Singapore Blooms

Singapore Blooms is a series inspired by the blooms and fall that we witness in Singapore. The impressions of the mind are similar to the fossils that are left behind, intact, somewhere to be discovered. This series is about those impressions the mind carries with the beauty of the falling petals and leaves.

Singapore is a city of blue skies, skyscrapers, and growth. Mature trees form an important part of Singapore's heritage. "the falling leaves" is a depiction of the rich history-in-making collected from the streets that speak of the histories it has witnessed. The leaves here are from Duxton Hill that has a history of Nutmeg Plantation that have been cleared to make way for heritage buildings standing beautiful amidst green backgrounds.

The deep connection to the beautiful historic buildings against the blue backgrounds are highlighted by the preservation of the trees.

As an artist, my inner dimensions perceive and preserve the impressions; just as fossils, transferred on canvas to depict and capture the fossil from my mind on to a touch-me dimension of the leaves.
